SERP Analysis Note (Internal)

Top 5 organic results for "exness mt5 download":

RankDomainPage type
1exness.comOfficial MT5 desktop download page
2exness.comOfficial MT5 mobile app page
3exness.joRegional Exness page (Jordan)
4get.exness.helpHelp Center article (MT5 desktop trading guide)
5exness.comOfficial Exness Trade app page

Insight: Exness's own pages dominate. The one independent result (expness.com, rank 9) is a low-quality thin page. There is a clear gap for a step-by-step guide that covers all platforms (Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, Web) in one place, which official pages split across multiple URLs.

How to Download MT5 for Exness (Desktop, Mobile, Web)

Exness supports MT5 across all major platforms. Below are direct download links and instructions for each.

MT5 for Windows (PC)

Download link: exness.com/metatrader-5

  1. Go to the Exness MT5 page linked above.
  2. Click Download MT5 for PC.
  3. The installer file (mt5setup.exe) will download — approximately 4 MB.
  4. Run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts (takes under 1 minute).
  5. MT5 will open automatically after installation. Log in with your Exness credentials (see the setup section below).

System requirements:

  • Windows 7, 8, 10, or 11 (32-bit or 64-bit)
  • Minimum 512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended)
  • 400 MB free disk space

MT5 for Mac

MetaQuotes does not release a native Mac build of MT5, but Exness traders on Mac have two practical options:

Option A — Web Terminal (simplest): Access MT5 directly from your browser at exness.com/metatrader-webterminal. No installation required. Works in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.

Option B — Wine / Parallels (advanced): Install MT5 for Windows using Wine (a free compatibility layer) or through Parallels Desktop with a Windows virtual machine. This provides the full desktop experience but requires more setup.

MT5 for Android

Download link: Google Play — MetaTrader 5

  1. Open the Google Play Store and search "MetaTrader 5."
  2. Install the official app published by MetaQuotes Software Corp.
  3. After installation, open the app and search for "Exness" in the broker list.
  4. Select the correct Exness server for your account type (see below).
  5. Enter your MT5 account number and password.

Alternative: You can also download Exness Trade from the Play Store — a simpler app for traders who do not need MT5's advanced features. See our Exness App guide for details.

MT5 for iOS (iPhone / iPad)

Download link: App Store — MetaTrader 5

  1. Open the App Store and search "MetaTrader 5."
  2. Download the app published by MetaQuotes Software Corp. (it is free).
  3. Open the app, tap Settings > New Account > Login to an existing account.
  4. Search for "Exness" and select your server.

MT5 Web Terminal (No Download Required)

The MT5 web terminal runs entirely in your browser — no installation needed on any device.

  • Access: exness.com/metatrader-webterminal
  • Compatible browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge
  • Features: Full charting, all order types, indicators — nearly identical to the desktop version

This is the best option if you use a shared or work computer, or if you are on Mac and do not want to install Wine.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

This section walks through connecting your Exness account to MT5 after installation. The process is the same for Windows, Android, and iOS.

Step 1 — Find Your Exness MT5 Server Name

Your server name depends on your account type and the Exness entity you trade under. You can find it in your Exness Personal Area:

  1. Log in to your Personal Area at my.exness.com
  2. Click on your MT5 trading account
  3. Note the Server field — it will read something like Exness-MT5Real, Exness-MT5Real2, or a regional variant

Common server names:

  • Exness-MT5Real (most Standard accounts)
  • Exness-MT5Real2
  • Exness-MT5Trial (demo accounts)

Step 2 — Log In to MT5

On desktop:

  1. Open MT5 and go to File > Open an Account (or press Ctrl+O if no login prompt appears)
  2. Search for "Exness" in the broker search field
  3. Select your server from the dropdown list
  4. Enter your account login number and password
  5. Click Finish

On mobile (Android/iOS):

  1. Tap the menu icon or Settings
  2. Select New Account > Login to an existing account
  3. Type "Exness" in the search field
  4. Select your server
  5. Enter your login credentials and tap Sign In

Step 3 — Verify Connection

A successful connection shows a coloured dot in the bottom-right corner (desktop) or connection status indicator (mobile). Green or yellow means connected; red means not connected.

If you see red, double-check:

  • You have selected the correct server (Real vs. Trial)
  • Your login credentials are correct (the MT5 login number is different from your Personal Area email/password)
  • Your internet connection is active

Step 4 — Explore the Interface

Once connected, you will see:

  • Market Watch panel (left side on desktop): list of available instruments with live bid/ask prices
  • Chart window (centre): price chart for the selected instrument
  • Navigator panel (left): your accounts, indicators, EAs, and scripts
  • Terminal panel (bottom): trade history, account summary, alerts

Setting Up Your First Trade on MT5

Opening a Position

  1. In Market Watch, right-click any instrument and select New Order (desktop) or tap the instrument and then Trade (mobile)
  2. Choose your order type: Market Execution for an instant trade at the current price
  3. Set your lot size (volume). One standard lot = 100,000 units of the base currency. Beginners should start with 0.01 lots (a micro lot).
  4. Optionally set a Stop Loss (closes the trade at a defined loss) and Take Profit (closes at a target profit) level
  5. Click Sell or Buy

Understanding Lot Sizes

Lot typeVolume1 pip value (EUR/USD, approx.)
Standard1.00~$10
Mini0.10~$1
Micro0.01~$0.10

Starting with micro lots (0.01) is strongly recommended for new traders. It limits your dollar risk per trade while you learn the platform.

Setting Stop Loss and Take Profit

A stop loss is not optional for responsible trading. To set one:

  1. In the New Order window, enter a price level in the Stop Loss field
  2. The field shows an absolute price — calculate your desired level based on how many pips of risk you are willing to accept
  3. Click Buy or Sell to execute

You can also modify an existing trade by right-clicking it in the Terminal panel and selecting Modify or Delete Order.

MT4 vs MT5 — Which Should You Choose?

Exness supports both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. If you are starting fresh in 2026, here is how to decide.

Key Differences

FeatureMT4MT5
Number of timeframes921
Built-in indicators3038
Order types46
Built-in economic calendarNoYes

Hedging (simultaneous long+short)YesYes (in Exness)

Programming language for EAsMQL4MQL5
Netting modeNoYes

Choose MT4 if:

  • You already have a library of MT4 Expert Advisors or custom indicators
  • You prefer the familiar MT4 interface
  • Your strategy requires the MT4 execution model

Choose MT5 if:

  • You are starting from scratch in 2026 — MT5 is the newer, more capable platform
  • You want more timeframes for analysis
  • You trade stocks or futures (MT5 was built with these in mind)
  • You want the built-in economic calendar for news trading

Our recommendation: New traders should use MT5. It offers a superset of MT4's features, and Exness actively develops its MT5 infrastructure. MT4 will continue to work, but it is gradually being de-emphasised in favour of MT5 industry-wide.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

"Invalid Account" Error at Login

  • Check that you are using your MT5 login number, not your email address. The MT5 login number is a numeric ID found in your Personal Area.
  • Verify you have selected the correct server. A demo account login will fail on a real server, and vice versa.
  • If you recently changed your MT5 password in the Personal Area, wait 2–3 minutes for the change to propagate before retrying.

Charts Not Loading

  • Go to Tools > Options > Charts (desktop) and ensure auto-scrolling is enabled.
  • Right-click the chart and select Refresh.
  • If the issue persists, go to Tools > History Center and request data for the affected instrument and timeframe.

"No Connection" Status

  • Check your internet connection.
  • In MT5, go to Tools > Options > Server and verify the server address. For Exness, valid servers are listed at get.exness.help.
  • Temporarily disable any VPN or firewall that may be blocking MT5's connection port (443).
  • Try switching to a different Exness server if multiple are listed for your account type.

MT5 Running Slowly

  • Reduce the number of open chart windows.
  • Limit the chart history period in Tools > Options > Charts > Max bars in chart.
  • Disable unused indicators — each active indicator consumes CPU and RAM.
  • On mobile, close other apps running in the background.

Can't Find Exness in the MT5 Broker List

  • Type "Exness" exactly in the search field (case-insensitive).
  • Ensure your MT5 is up to date — older versions may not list newer servers.
  • As an alternative, your Personal Area provides the exact server hostname, which you can enter manually by clicking Specify in the server selection step.
